Appeal for Humanitarian Aid for the People of Kyrgyz Republic
As the humanitarian calamity deepens in the Kyrgyz Republic and suffering
continues, we can no longer only offer our sympathies and hopes for a
peaceful settlement. Though from this far there is a limitation on what we
can do and achieve, but this is certainly the moment to mobilse resources
for humanitarian aid. We have been discussing the possibilities with the
national and international organisations including the Kyrgyz Embassy in
London and representations from the neighbouring states on how to be
effective in these difficult times.
To start with, any financial contributions will be collected by Cambridge
Central Asia Forum while we try to work out how medical and other aid items
can be collected and channelled to affected regions and/or refugee
shelters.
It is of utmost importance to target what we collect and ensure its fair
and just usages, but our collective efforts now must be mobilised into real
action and resources for the people of Kyrgyzstan.
Cheques can be made to ‘QCCMC- Cambridge Central Asia Appeal’ and sent to
